The spectacular does not have to be far away. It often happens right around us.

Animals in their natural habitat are often unpredictable. Patient observation, anticipation and quick reactions create outstanding images. Landscapes and plants don't move but can be inspirational in unusual light conditions. Knowledge and experience are great assets when adjusting to any subject. Patience is essential. Improvement always possible.

After more than many years of tightly scheduled multi-tasking indoors I now enjoy the time required to capture images outdoors. This is where I find plenty of stimulating challenges. There is always a scene I have not yet observed, animal behaviour I have not yet captured, lighting conditions, focus and timing which can be improved and angles I had not thought of before. I keep learning.
